Total RNA

The study of RNA is crucial for gene expression analysis and discovery. The total RNAs from 3H Biomedical are prepared using a modified guanidinium method. The RNAs have been treated with RNase-free DNase I and dissolved in RNase free water. The purity of cells used for RNA preparation is greater than 90 %. RNA purity (A260/280 ratio) is in the range 1.9-2.1. The concentration of RNA is determined using a Nanodrop spectrophotometer or fluorescence technology (Qubit). RNA Intergrity number (RIN) is determined using an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer. The RNAs are tested using RT-PCR with GAPDH primers. Total RNAs are ready for use in cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, RNA protection assay, Northern blot analysis, purification of mRNA for library construction, PCR-select cDNA subtraction and microarray analysis.
