The aorta is the largest artery in the human body. It distributes oxygenated blood from the heart to all orgens in the body. Lining the vessel wall, aortic endothelial cells (AEC) are constantly exposed to high hemodynamic forces that induce changes in the production of endothelium-derived substances regulating vasoconstriction and vessel growth.
AEC also modulates the expression of cellular adhesion molecules to regulate inflammatory responses and fibrinolysis.
Human Aortic Endothelial Cells (HAEC) are isolated from human aorta. HAEC are cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen.
Each vial contains 500 000 viable cells in 1 ml volume. HAEC are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to vWF/Factor VIII and CD31 (PECAM), and by uptake of DiI-Ac-LDL.
HAEC are tested and found negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi.
HAEC are guaranteed to further expand for 10 population doublings under the conditions provided.
Recommended Medium
It is recommended to use Endothelial Cell Medium (ECM, Cat. no. SC1001) for culturing HAEC in vitro.
Product Use
HAEC are for research use only. They are not approved for human or animal use, or for application in in vitro diagnostic procedures.
Storage
Upon receiving, directly and immediately transfer the cells from dry ice to liquid nitrogen and keep the cells in liquid nitrogen until they are needed for experiments.
Shipping
Dry ice.
Warranty
Cells are only warranted if ScienCell media and reagents are used and the recommended protocols are followed.
Product Use
The product is for in vitro laboratory research use only and are not intended for human or animal diagnostics, therapeutic, or other clinical uses. Not for drug, household, or other uses.
