Choroid plexus fibroblasts have been used to study the roles of the macrophage as a virus target cell and virus inducer in the virus-macrophage-fibroblast interaction.
Fibroblasts are mesenchymal cells derived from the embryonic mesoderm. In general, fibroblasts secrete a non-rigid extracellular matrix which is rich in type I and/or type III collagen.
There is evidence showing that fibroblasts in various organs are intrinsically different. They have been extensively used for a wide range of cellular and molecular studies as they are one of easiest types of cells to grow in culture. Their durability also makes them amenable to a variety of manipulations ranging from studies employing gene transfection to microinjection.
Human Choroid Plexus Fibroblasts (HCPF) are isolated from human choroid plexus.
HCOFs are cryopreserved at P0 and delivered frozen.
Each vial contains 500 000 cells in 1 ml volume.
HCPF are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibody specific to fibronectin.
HCPF are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi.
HCPF are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings under the conditions provided by ScienCell Research Laboratories.
Recommended Medium
It is recommended to use Fibroblast Medium (FM, Cat. no. SC2301) for culturing HCPF in vitro.
Product Use
HCPF are for research use only. They are not approved for human or animal use, or for application in in vitro diagnostic procedures.
Storage
Upon receiving, directly and immediately transfer the cells from dry ice to liquid nitrogen and keep the cells in liquid nitrogen until they are needed for experiments.
Shipping
Dry ice.
