IL-31 is a recently discovered helical cytokine, belonging to the gp130/IL-6 cytokine family. The receptors for IL-6 family are type I receptors, and they share a number of common structural motifs, such as the cytokine-binding domain with two pairs of conserved cysteine residues and a WSXWS sequence motif in the extracellular domain. IL-31 is expressed preferentially by activated Th2 CD4+ T cells, signaling through a heterodimeric receptor complex composed of IL-31RA and OSMR. Recent studies in both humans and mice have suggested a link between IL-31/IL-31R expression and skin inflammation although the functional significance of endogenous IL-31/IL-31R interactions in influencing innate and adaptive immune responses remains unknown.
Aliases- IL-31
- Recombinant Human Interleukin-31 (IL31)
Formulation- Recombinant Interleukin-31 was lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered PBS solution pH 7.5.
Endotoxin Level- <1.0 EU/µg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.
Storage Condition- The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70°C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at +2° to +8°C for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
