Interleukin-2, Rat Recombinant, produced in
Escherichia coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 135 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 16 kDa. The IL-2 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Synonyms: T-cell growth factor (TCGF), Aldesleukin, Lymphokine, IL-2.
Formulation: The IL-2 solution contains 0.2µm filtered solution in 20mM PB pH3. 5 and 30% Glycerol.
Physical Appearance: Sterile filtered colorless solution.
Purity: Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.
Stability: Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of murine CTLL-2 cells is less than 0.2ng/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 5,000,000 IU/mg.
