TIMP2, produced in
E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 194 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 21.8 kDa.
Synonyms: Fibroblast growth factor 17, FGF-17, FGF17, FGF-13, HH20.
Formulation: TIMP2 protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH 7.4, with 3 % trehalose.
Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity: Greater than 95% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.(b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.

Uniprot ACC number: P16035
Transportation method: Shipped at room temperature.
Stability: Lyophilized TIMP2 although stable at room temperature. Erature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution TIMP2 should be stored at +4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The biologically active as determined by its ability to inhibit human MMP-2 cleavage of a fluorogenic peptide substrate Mca-PLGL-Dpa-AR-NH2.
Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized TIMP2 in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
