Recombinant human PSPN produced in
E. coli is a disulfide-linked homodimer containing 2x96 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 20.5 kDa. The PSPN is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Synonyms: Persephin, PSP, PSPN.
Formulation: lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH 7.4.
Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity: Greater than 95% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Source:Escherichia coli. Amino acid sequence: ALSGPCQLWS LTLSVAELGL GYASEEKVIF RYCAGSCPRG ARTQHGLALA RLQGQGRAHG GPCCRPTRYT DVAFLDDRHR WQRLPQLSAA ACGCGG.
Uniprot ACC number: O60542
Transportation method: Shipped at room temperature.
Stability: Lyophilized PSPN although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution PSPN should be stored at +4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using human TT medullary thyroid cancer cells is less than 10 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.0 × 100,000 IU/mg.
Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized PSPN in 4 mM HCl not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
