Recombinant human IL-6 produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a molecular weight range of 26-30 kDa due to glycosylation. The IL6 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Synonyms: IFN-b2, B cell differentiation factor, BCDF, BSF-2, HPGF, HSF, MGI-2, B-cell stimulatory factor 2, Interferon beta-2, Hybridoma growth factor, CTL differentiation factor, CDF, IL-6, HGF.
Formulation: The IL6 was lyophilized from 1mg/ml in 1xPBS.
Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity: Greater than 95% as obsereved by SDS-PAGE.
Source: HEK.
Uniprot ACC number: P05231
Transportation method: Shipped at room temperature.
Stability: Lyophilized IL-6 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution IL6 should be stored at +4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity: The activity was determined by the dose dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 0.2-1 ng/ml.
Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized IL-6 in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant HSA.
