Recombinant human IFN-gamma produced in
E. coli is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 159 amino acids (24-161 a.a.) without cysteine residues and having a molecular mass of 18.5 kDa (confirmed by MALDI-TOF). Proteolytic processing produces C-terminal heterogeneity, with proteins ending alternatively at Gly-150, Met-157 or Gly-161. IFN-gamma is fused to a 21 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
