Recombinant human IGFBP3 produced in
E. coli is a homodimeric, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2x264 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 28806 Dalton. IGFBP-3 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Synonyms: GH-dependant binding protein, IBP3, BP-53, IGFBP-3.
Formulation: lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered concentrated (0.5 mg/ml) solution in PBS, pH 7.4.
Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity: Greater than 97% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.

Uniprot ACC number: P17936
Transportation method: Shipped at room temperature.
Stability: Lyophilized IBP3 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution IGF-BP 3 should be stored at +4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity: The ED50, calculated by by its ability to inhibit IGF-II induced proliferation of MCF-7 is < 0.2 µg/ml in the presence of 15 ng/ml
of Human IGF-II, corresponding to a specific activity of 5,000,000units/mg.
Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized IGFBP3 in sterile 20 mM AcOH (acetic Acid) not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
