Recombinant human Cardiotrophin-1 produced in
E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 201 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 21.2 kDa. The CTF1 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Synonyms: CTF1, CT1, CT-1, CardiopH in 1, Cardiotrophin-1.
Formulation: CTF-1 protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered concentrated solution in 30% Acetonitrile and 0.1% TFA.
Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity: Greater than 95% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.

Uniprot ACC number: Q16619
Transportation method: Shipped at room temperature.
Stability: Lyophilized CTF1 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CTF-1 should be stored at +4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using human TF-1 cells is less than 1.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.0×106 IU/mg.
Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CTF1 in sterile 4 mM HCl not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
