Procalcitonin produced in
E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 114 amino acids fragment (3-116) having a molecular mass of 17.1 kDa and an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. The PCT is purified by standard chromatographic techniques.
