Blood vessels of the skin are composed of a number of cellular and non-cellular elements and the predominant cell type is endothelial cells.
Endothelial cells form the interface between intravascular and extravascular compartments and serve as a selective barrier for the diffusion of cells and macromolecules between these two compartments.
Endothelial cells lining blood vessels of the skin play active roles in wound healing, control of hemostasis, temperature regulation, and modulation of inflammation/leukocyte trafficking.
Human Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HDMEC) are isolated from human skin. HDMEC are cryopreserved at passage 1 and delivered frozen.
Each vial contains 500 000 cells in 1 ml volume.
HDMEC are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to vWF/Factor VIII and CD31 (PECAM), and by uptake of DiI-Ac-LDL.
HDMEC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi.
HDMEC are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings under the conditions provided.
Recommended Medium
It is recommended to use Endothelial Cell Medium (ECM, Cat. No. SC1001) for culturing HDMEC in vitro.
Storage
Upon receiving, directly and immediately transfer the cells from dry ice to liquid nitrogen and keep the cells in liquid nitrogen until they are needed for experiments.

Credits, Refunds, & Replacements
ScienCell Does not accept any returns and refunds are only offered in the event that the customer is approved for a replacement, but we are unable to supply the item to them within a reasonable timeframe. Replacements for the product may be given to the customer and is done so at the discretion of Sciencell. The customer may be required to pay shipping and handling costs for the replacement. Product Replacement
Customer must notify us within a week of receiving goods to be eligible for a replacement.
1. Due to the sensitive nature of our products, no refunds or exchanges will be provided.

3. Please note that ScienCell will only replace defective products.
4. Product replacement exclusions include but are not limited to:
(1) If the product was refrozen
(2) if any other product or protocol was used during the subculture process
(3) if ScienCell technical product specifications were not followed
