Cardiac microvascular endothelial cells (CMEC) play important roles in myocardial function and regulate vascular tone. CMEC cultures provide an invaluable tool for understanding CMEC physiological and pathophysiological relevance in cardiac function and disease.
Human Cardiac Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HCMEC) are isolated from human heart. HCMEC are cryopreserved after purification and delivered frozen.
Each vial contains 500 000 cells in 1 ml volume.
HCMEC are guaranteed to further expand for 10 population doublings under the conditions provided.
HCMEC are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to vWF/Factor VIII and CD31 (PECAM), and by uptake of DiI-Ac-LDL.
HCMEC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi.
Recommended Medium
It is recommended to use Endothelial Cell Medium (ECM, Cat. No. SC1001) for culturing HCMEC in vitro.
Storage
Upon receiving, directly and immediately transfer the cells from dry ice to liquid nitrogen and keep the cells in liquid nitrogen until they are needed for experiments.
Shipping
Dry ice.
Warranty
Cells are only warranted if ScienCell media and reagents are used and the recommended protocols are followed.
Product Use
HCMEC are for research use only. They are not approved for human or animal use, or for application in in vitro diagnostic procedures.
End user is not permitted to transfer or refreeze the cells.
