Immortalized Mouse Retinal Cells (MU-PH1) are Müller-derived retinal progenitor cells which retained characteristics of photoreceptor, glial and stem cells. MU-PH1 cells are light sensitive and have expression of the TLR1, TLR2, TLR4, TLR6, MT1 and MT2 receptors. Additionally it had been found to express photoreceptor markers such as rhodopsin, recoverin, transducin, blue opsin and red/green opsin. The cells were spontaneously immortalized in culture and may be utilized for studies relating to retinal stem cell biology.Immortalization Method: Spontaneous immortalizationBioSafety Level: IISpecies: MouseSource Organ: RetinaGrowth Properties: AdherentMorphology: PolygonalPopulation Doubling: N/ASeeding Density: Thaw entire contents into an appropriate T25 flask as specified in the Propagation instructions.Markers: Vimentin, S-100, glutamine synthetase, nestin, ABCG2,a-tubulin,b-III-tubulin and Ascl1Donor Age: N/ADonor Gender: N/ADonor Ethnicity: N/APropagation: The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available at abm (TM003).
