Immortalized Mouse Basophil Cells (EML C.1) – SV40 were established from mouse bone marrow which was infected with the retroviral vector, LRARα403SN. Capable of producing pre-pro-B cells, Immortalized Mouse Basophil Cells (EML C.1) – SV40 are dependent on SCF and have erythroid, myeloid, and lymphoid potentials. Immortalized Mouse Basophil Cells (EM C.1) – SV40 can be used in the study of the differentiation of lymphohematopoietic progenitor cells.

Propagation: The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow V medium available at abm, Cat. No. TM015. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: horse serum* to a final concentration of 20%, Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255) to a final concentration of 1%, and 200 ng/mL rat stem cell factor (Amgen). Change media every 2-3 days. Carbon dioxide (CO2): 5%, Temperature: +37.0°C.
* Do not use heat-inactivated serum for cell culture unless specified otherwise.
Quality Control: 1) Southern and Northern analyses; 2) PCR detection of D-J rearrangement; 3) Flow cytometry; 4) Colony assays
