Most immortalized mast cell lines are tumour cell lines, and carry a gain-of-function mutation of Kit. Immortalized Mast Cells (NCL-2) is derived from NC mouse bone marrow, and does not carry a Kit mutation. NLC-2 can respond to exogenous growth signals SCF and IL-3, and releases various chemical mediators against several stimuli including crosslinking of Fc εRI. This cell line could be a useful tool to analyze proliferation, differentiation, and function of normal mast cells.Immortalization Method: SpontaneousBioSafety Level: IISpecies: MouseSource Organ: Bone MarrowGrowth Properties: SuspensionMorphology: RoundPopulation Doubling: Approximately 30 hoursSeeding Density: 150,000 - 200,000 cells/mLMarkers: Fc εRI, KITDonor Age: N/ADonor Gender: MaleDonor Ethnicity: N/APropagation: The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow VIII medium available at abm, Cat.
