Immortalized Human Mammary MUC+ESA+ Epithelial Cells are luminal-derived epithelial cells coexpressing sialomucin (MUC) and epithelial-specific antigen (ESA). It has tight junction proteins, occludin, claudin-1, and the ability to build high transepithelial electrical resistance which is all characteristics of differentiated luminal epithelial phenotypes. It can form acinus-like spheres when cultures on laminin rich gel. These cells have characteristics of differentiated mature human breasts.Immortalization Method: Serial passaging and transduction with human papilloma virus (HPV)-16 E6/E7BioSafety Level: IISpecies: HumanSource Organ: Mammary GlandGrowth Properties: AdherentMorphology: PolygonalPopulation Doubling: N/ASeeding Density: Thaw entire contents into an appropriate T25 flask as specified in the Propagation instructions.Markers: CK18, E-cadherin, G418 resistanceDonor Age: 22Donor Gender: FemaleDonor Ethnicity: N/APropagation: The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III:Prigrow IV (3:1 ratio) medium available at abm (TM003 and TM004).
