Immortalized Human Colon Cells

Human colon epithelial cells line the colonic mucosal surface as a mechanical barrier as well as function as an integral component of the mucosal immune system. Their gene expression and growth characteristics can be altered in respond to a broad array of cytokines. abm’s Immortalized Human Colon Cells are obtained from human normal colon section and are ideal research models for malignant and non-malignant colorectum diseases.

Propagation: The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available at abm, Cat. No. TM003. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (TM999)* to a final concentration of 5% and Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255) to a final concentration of 1%. This cell line needs to be cultured in collagen coated flasks.
Carbon dioxide (CO₂): 5%, Temperature: +37.0°C. * abm does not recommend to use heat-inactivated FBS for cell culture unless specified otherwise.

Quality Control: Real Time PCR was used to quantify SV40 gene expression in immortalized cell line.
