Immortalized Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells (HBEC3-KT) - Cdk4/hTERT were isolated and immortalized from bronchial biopsy specimens using Cdk4 and hTERT expression vectors. It serves as a model that can be genetically manipulated in a stepwise fashion to progress the cells toward malignancy that may be useful for studying the early stages of preneoplasia and progression, differentiation, and morphogenesis and for comparisons with lung cancer for the identification of new genetic and epigenetic differences between tumor and normal cells.
