Immortalized C57BL6 Mouse Schwann Cells (1970C3)

Spontaneously immortalized wild-type Schwann cell line which was established from C57BL6 mice's dorsal root ganglia (DRG) and adjacent peripheral nerves. Immortalized C57BL6 Mouse Schwann Cells (1970C3) retained Schwann cell properties such as the production and secretion of various neurotrophic factors and cytokines that promote neuronal survival (NGF and GDNF).

Propagation: The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available at abm, Cat. No. TM003. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (TM999)* to a final concentration of 5%, Recombinant Human NRG1 (Z101625) to a final concentration of 20 ng/mL, and Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255) to a final concentration of 1%.
Change media every 2-3 days.
Carbon dioxide (CO₂): 5%, Temperature: +37.0°C.
* Do not use heat-inactivated FBS for cell culture unless specified otherwise.
