HEK293 cells were transfected with pcDNA3.1 construct carrying HsTPC2 (LL/AA):RFP and were selected under the presence of G418 to create the Stable HsTPC2 (LL/AA):RFP Expressing HEK293 Cell Line Expressing HEK293 Cell Line to study these ion channels.

Propagation: The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available at abm, Cat. No. TM003. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (TM999)* to a final concentration of 10% and Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255) to a final concentration of 1%. 1.2 mg/mL G418 (G271) was used as the selection pressure for the cells. Change media every 2-3 days.Carbon dioxide (CO₂): 5%, Temperature: +37.0°C.* Do not use heat-inactivated FBS for cell culture unless specified otherwise.

Preservation: 1. Freeze Medium: Complete growth medium with 20% FBS and 10% DMSO.2. Storage Temperature: Liquid nitrogen vapour phase.
