Hexokinase (HK), which phosphorylates glucose and generates glucose-6-phosphate for glycolysis, plays an important role in glucose metabolism. HK deficiency leads to severe human diseases such as Xlinked muscular dystrophy and a rare autosomal recessive hemolytic anemia. Conversely, increased HK activity is deleterious and is associated with cancer and metastasis. In ScienCell TM Hexokinase Activity Assay kit-Fluorometric (HK-FL), glucose is converted to glucose-6-phosphate by HK, the glucose-6phosphate is oxidized by glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase to form NADPH.

mU/mL and is used to generate a standard curve (Figure 1).
