Colonic epithelial cells play important roles in innate and adaptive mucosal immunity as well as absorptive processes. Human colonic epithelial cells (HCoEpiC) can process and present antigens to T cells in vitro and can be stimulated to express HLA class II and intercellular adhesion molecules in vivo. They also respond to a broad array of cytokines with altered gene expression and growth characteristics.
Human colonic epithelial cells (HCoEpiC) are isolated from human colonic tissue and are cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen.
Each vial contains 500 000 cells in 1 ml volume.
HCoEpiC are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to CK18 and CK19.
HCoEpiC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi.
HCoEpiC are guaranteed to further culture for 10 population doublings under the conditions provided.
Recommended Medium
It is recommended to use Colonic Epithelial Cell Medium (CECM, Cat. no. SC2951) for culturing HCoEpiC in vitro.
Product Use
HCoEpiC are for research use only. They are not approved for human or animal use, or for application in in vitro diagnostic procedures.
Storage
Upon receiving, directly and immediately transfer the cells from dry ice to liquid nitrogen and keep the cells in liquid nitrogen until they are needed for experiments.
Shipping
