Human Cardiac Myocyte Medium-serum free (CMM-sf) is a complete medium optimized for the in vitro culture of normal cardiac myocytes in serum-free conditions.
It is a sterile, liquid medium and contains essential and non-essential amino acids, vitamins, organic and inorganic compounds, hormones, growth factors and trace minerals.
The medium is HEPES and bicarbonate buffered and has a pH of 7.4 when equilibrated in an incubator at 5% CO2, 37oC, 95% air.
The medium is formulated (quantitatively and qualitatively) to provide an optimally balanced nutritional environment that selectively supports the culture of normal cardiac myocytes in vitro under serum free conditions.
Components
CMM-sf consists of 500 ml of basal medium, 5 ml of Cardiac Myocyte Growth Supplementserum free (CMGS-sf, Cat. #SC6152) and 5 ml of penicillin/streptomycin solution (P/S, Cat. #SC0503).
Note: CMGS-sf and P/S are not pre-mixed in CMM-sf; they must be added separately to make the complete CMM-sf.
